Underwriting Division Full Time

BRAVADO Global Underwriting Limited is hiring in its non-life underwriting division. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting, reviewing, modeling, analyzing and underwriting complex submissions within the context of applying the division’s underwriting guidelines and standards; determining the proper terms and conditions for acceptable risks including rating the account to develop the appropriate premium; and developing and maintaining profitable business relationships with brokers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
– Review and price policies to verify acceptability based upon company underwriting guidelines and granted underwriting authority.
– Determine whether to accept, modify, or decline risks.
– Oversee and approve endorsements as indicated.
– Develop and maintain a profitable book of business.
– Utilize underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
– Analyze new business opportunities and develop renewal strategies.
– Establish working relationships with new and existing producers and reinsurers.
– Consult with general agents/brokers to obtain further information, quote rates, or explain underwriting guidelines.
– Create, analyze, and interpret data from various reports.
– Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or 1-3 years related insurance experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
– Demonstrates an understanding and ability to effectively engage in the negotiation process.
– Solid knowledge of underwriting philosophy and techniques.
– Strong negotiation skills.
– Ability to multi-task.
– Strong oral and written communication skills.
– Detail oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent analytical skills.
– Working knowledge of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
